Amazon’s New Batman Cartoon Highlights Wayne Family Antics
DC animated series. The world of DC Studios has gotten even cuter and more action-packed with the new series Bat-Fam, now streaming on Prime Video. The show follows the adventures of Damien Wayne, aka Little Batman, as he navigates life at Wayne Manor with his father, Bruce Wayne, and a host of new friends and foes.
In a recent interview with Mike Roth, executive producer and showrunner of DC Studios and WB Animation, he talked about the evolution of the series from the movie Merry Little Batman. Roth explained that their initial plan was to create a movie, but as they delved into the world of Gotham and the unique relationship between Damien and Bruce, they realized there was so much more to explore.
One of the key elements of the show is the concept of found family, with new characters like Claire and Alicia coming into Damien’s world to challenge and support him. Roth mentioned that Claire’s fiery personality and symbolic transition to adulthood make her a perfect foil for Damien, while Alicia’s history with Bruce adds a unique dynamic to the series.
When it comes to the villains in the show, Roth expressed his excitement for showcasing Batman’s iconic rogues gallery. From big baddies like Solomon Grundy and Killer Croc to reformed villains in the group E-VIL, the series promises a mix of scary adversaries and humorous encounters.
Fans of Batman will also appreciate the Easter eggs scattered throughout the series, including a cameo from DC Comics legend Carmine Infantino. Roth shared that this was one of his favorite moments to include in the show.
