Stephen King’s Controversial Movie Adaptation Available on Paramount+
As fans eagerly await new episodes of It: Welcome to Derry on HBO Max, Paramount+ subscribers have a new Stephen King adaptation to stream. Over the years, Hollywood has drawn inspiration from King’s novels, dating back to the iconic Carrie in 1976, and now many of these adaptations are available for streaming.
One of the latest additions to Paramount+ is the controversial adaptation of King’s novel Cujo. Released in 1983 along with other King adaptations, Cujo tells the story of a mother and son trapped in their car, trying to escape from a rabid St. Bernard. Directed by Lewis Teague, the film takes some liberties with the original novel, particularly with its ending, which differs significantly from the source material.
Unlike many faithful adaptations of King’s works, Cujo ends on a more positive note in the film, a stark departure from the dark and gruesome conclusion of the novel. Despite the change being divisive among critics and audiences, Cujo remains a standout adaptation and a unique horror experience that relies on real-world fear rather than supernatural elements.
In addition to Cujo, Paramount+ offers a variety of other movies for subscribers to enjoy. From classics like Ferris Bueller’s Day Off to newer favorites like 21 Jump Street, there’s something for everyone. And with the holiday season approaching, Paramount+ has added several Christmas movies to spread some festive cheer.
If you’re a fan of Stephen King adaptations or just looking for something new to watch, Cujo on Paramount+ is a must-see. Check it out and let us know what you think in the comments!
