Samira Wiley and Jin Ha Cast in Broadway Production ‘Proof’
Samira Wiley and Jin Ha have just joined the cast of the upcoming Broadway production of Proof, alongside Ayo Edebiri and Don Cheadle. These talented actors are set to take the stage this spring in what promises to be a captivating show.
This will be Wiley’s Broadway debut, an Emmy Award winner known for her roles in The Handmaid’s Tale and Orange Is the New Black. On the other hand, Ha has previously starred in Hamilton on Broadway and Chicago, as well as appearing in the Apple TV+ series Pacinko.
The revival of David Auburn’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play will run for 16 weeks at the Booth Theatre, with performances starting on March 31, 2026, and an official opening night on April 16. Under the direction of Thomas Kail, known for his work on Hamilton, the play tells a poignant story of a daughter coping with the loss of her mathematician father and unraveling the secrets he left behind.
The original production of Proof earned both a Tony Award and the 2001 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. It was later adapted into a feature film starring Gwyneth Paltrow, Anthony Hopkins, and Jake Gyllenhaal. With Edebiri and Cheadle making their Broadway debuts alongside Wiley and Ha, this new production is sure to be a must-see event.
Wiley has a rich history on stage, with performances in London at Donmar Warehouse and Off-Broadway in productions like Daphne’s Dive at the Signature Theatre. Ha has also showcased his talent in Off-Broadway productions, including Stephen Sondheim’s Here We Are at The Shed and David Hare’s work.
