Apple TV+ Outage Disrupts Streaming for Thousands of Users

Apple TV fans in the US experienced a bit of a hiccup recently when the streaming service had an outage. Reports came in from nearly 14,907 users about the Apple TV+ service being down on Thursday, November 6. It started around 9:00 p.m. ET and affected subscribers across the US and even a few globally, causing streaming errors.

The outage also impacted Apple Music and Apple Arcade, according to Apple’s service status page. Luckily, services were restored by Friday, November 7, after being down for about 12 to 18 hours for most users. While Apple has not shared the exact cause of the outage, it’s not uncommon for major launches like this to strain server capacity, revealing potential vulnerabilities in the system.

Adding to the frustration, the outage happened just minutes after the premiere of Pluribus, a highly anticipated series from the creator of Breaking Bad. This unfortunate timing coincided with the launch of a show that Apple had heavily promoted, hoping to attract more subscribers to Apple TV+. Hopefully, Apple will take steps to prevent future outages and keep the streaming experience smooth for viewers.
