Safe Houses: Gideon Raff Adaptation Coming to Apple TV

Apple TV has just secured an exciting new show called Safe Houses. The series is based on the novel of the same name by Dan Fesperman and is showrun by Gideon Raff, known for his work on The Spy. Safe Houses is set to be an eight-episode international thriller that promises to keep viewers on the edge of their seats.

The plot of Safe Houses unfolds in the aftermath of the assassination of a high-ranking CIA officer in Madrid. The story follows Sofia Jiménez, a fugitive agent accused of the crime, and Ambassador Elizabeth Winthrop, the officer’s widow. As they investigate the murder from different angles, they uncover a complex conspiracy that could have far-reaching consequences on global power dynamics.

On the creative side, Safe Houses is a collaboration between wiip, a global independent studio, and Apple Studios. Otto Bathurst, known for his work on Peaky Blinders, will direct the opening episodes. Gideon Raff will also direct several episodes and serve as an executive producer alongside Alexandra Milchan. The show’s development was spearheaded by Mike Seid, who will also be a co-executive producer alongside Adam Berkowitz. Sara Gonzalo will take on the role of producer, while Dan Fesperman will serve as a consulting producer.
