Jordan Peele’s “High Horse: The Black Cowboy” Documentary Premieres on Peacock
Peacock has announced that Jordan Peele’s new documentary, “High Horse: The Black Cowboy,” will premiere on Thursday, November 20. Inspired by Peele’s film Nope, this three-part documentary produced by Monkeypaw Productions aims to shed light on the untold history of Black cowboys and reclaim the Wild West narrative that has been whitewashed.
Peele himself expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to amplify the voices and culture of Black cowboys and cowgirls through this project. The documentary features interviews with a diverse group of individuals, including Oscar winner Peele, Bun B, Pam Grier, Rick Ross, and more. Directed by Jason Perez and with a score by Raphael Saadiq, the documentary is a collaboration between Monkeypaw Productions and Universal Television Alternative Studio.
By highlighting the lasting legacy of Black cowboys and cowgirls, “High Horse: The Black Cowboy” aims to honor and celebrate their important contribution to the story of our country.
