”Harry Potter” actors hesitant to watch new HBO series: ”Doesn’t relate to us”

Grab your wands, because the “Harry Potter” stars James and Oliver Phelps, known for playing the mischievous Weasley twins, Fred and George, are sharing their thoughts on the upcoming HBO TV show. James, 39, kept it real by admitting he hadn’t really thought about it while chatting with The Post.

The Phelps twins were busy promoting their Food Network show, “Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking,” which is set to return on Nov. 2 at 8 pm and also streams on HBO Max. When asked about the new TV series, James mentioned that it’s not something connected to them at all.

Oliver, 39, shared that he might give the show a go when the time is right and said, “We’ve always got that bond of being the first [cast] group together.” He expressed how their friendships mirror old college or high school pals—you know, where you can pick up right where you left off.

In the original movie series released from 2001 to 2011, the Phelps twins played their iconic roles. Oliver is married to Katy Humpage, with two kids, and James has been happily married to Annika Ostle since 2016. Oliver humorously mentioned his daughter might end up being a fan of the new series.

The upcoming “Harry Potter” show, set to debut in 2026, will adapt J.K. Rowling’s seven books into seasons. The spotlight will be on new actors like Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley, stepping into the shoes of iconic characters portrayed by Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint in the original films.

While the show has fans excited, it seems some folks from the original cast and crew have mixed feelings. Director Chris Columbus shared his thoughts on the costumes in the new series, hinting that it felt a bit too familiar. Even Radcliffe himself, now 36, mentioned he probably won’t appear in the show.
