Netflix Latin America’s Major Investment in Philip K. Dick Adaptation ‘The Future Is Ours’

Principal photography has begun on Netflix Latin America’s brand new adaptation of Philip K. Dick’s novel “The Future Is Ours,” based on his 1956 sci-fi novel “The World Jones Made.” Directed by Spain’s Mateo Gil, known for the Oscar-winning “The Sea Inside,” the show boasts a talented cast and crew spanning the region.

VP of content for Latin America, Francisco Ramos, was quoted saying that this is one of their grandest and most intricate productions, likening it to the scale and complexity seen in “One Hundred Years of Solitude” or “The Eternaut.” Gil, the showrunner, also emphasized the show’s ambition as a truly Latin American creation, aiming to represent the continent in all its diversity with a wide range of characters originating from across the region.
