Formula 1 and Apple forge historic five-year broadcast partnership
marks a significant milestone in Formula 1’s strategy to expand its presence in the U.S. market.
Apple TV will stream all Formula 1 practice, qualifying, Sprint session, and Grand Prix races in the United States under the new deal. Additionally, select races and practice sessions will be available for free through the Apple TV app. F1 TV Premium, the official content service of Formula 1, will be accessible exclusively through Apple TV subscriptions, with subscription access included.
In addition to live race coverage, Apple plans to integrate Formula 1 content across various platforms such as Apple News, Apple Maps, Apple Music, Apple Sports, and Apple Fitness+, providing fans with new ways to engage with the sport throughout the year.
Stefano Domenicali, President and CEO of Formula 1, expressed excitement about the partnership, highlighting the opportunity to further develop Formula 1’s fanbase in the U.S. He emphasized the goal of engaging current fans and attracting new audiences through live broadcasts and engaging content.
Eddy Cue, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Services, praised the collaboration as an opportunity to provide Apple TV subscribers with exclusive access to one of the fastest-growing sports globally. Cue noted that the 2026 season represents a transformative period for Formula 1, marked by new teams, regulations, and cars, as well as the best drivers in the world.
The partnership follows the results of the 2025 Global F1 Fan Survey, which indicated the sport’s increasing popularity in the U.S. market. With nearly half of new American fans having followed Formula 1 for five years or less, and over half being female, Apple’s broad media reach is expected to further boost the sport’s growth in the U.S.
Formula 1 and Apple will release additional production details and enhanced fan engagement features before the start of the 2026 season.
