Prime Video Gives Early Look at NBA on Prime Studio

With the first-ever NBA on Prime broadcast set for next Friday, Amazon Prime Video has unveiled its brand-new studio facility located at Amazon MGM Studios in Culver City, CA. This impressive 13,000-sq.-ft., two-story studio is designed to take viewers closer to the game with its LED regulation half court and hoop surrounded by 2,300 LED tiles, creating an immersive experience.

The studio’s main highlight is the LED regulation half court and basketball hoop, which is the largest high-resolution studio floor in America. This feature will be a key aspect of the NBA on Prime studio show, used for analyst demonstrations and more. The studio is equipped with a 1080p HDR resolution to provide viewers with a top-notch NBA viewing experience.

Each level of the studio serves a specific purpose for NBA on Prime studio programming. The main anchor desk located on the second level mezzanine will be used for the pregame show, allowing for a constant view of the court. The ground floor lounge area will host the NBA Nightcap postgame show, creating an inviting atmosphere for viewers to connect with the NBA on Prime team.

The studio is decked out with an LED medium consisting of 2,300 individual tiles containing approximately 3 billion pixels. This allows the entire environment, including the regulation half-court basketball area, to transform instantly to show different NBA arenas, city skylines, or data visualizations.

As part of the grand debut, Prime Video Sports presented the new NBA on Prime Studio with an exclusive preview at Amazon MGM Studios in Culver City, CA. The event included Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios executives, NBA on Prime on-air talent, and basketball legends like Blake Griffin, Dirk Nowitzki, Steve Nash, and more.
