Orlando Bloom Boxing Movie ‘The Cut’ to Stream Soon
The streaming debut for Orlando Bloom’s new boxing movie is just around the corner! Director Sean Ellis’s film, “The Cut,” is all set to make its post-theatrical launch on Paramount+ on November 1st, following its limited theatrical release and premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2024.
The movie follows an Irish boxer, played by Bloom, as he takes up a job at his local gym after his fighting career hits a roadblock. When an opportunity arises for him to step back into the ring and prove himself once again, he resorts to extreme measures to shed weight quickly.
Joined by Caitríona Balfe, John Turturro, Gary Beadle, and Clare Dunne, the cast of “The Cut” brings this story to life. With a script by Justin Bull and a story by Mark Lane, the film was produced by a team that includes Bloom himself.
Fans might recognize Bloom from his recent role in the action-comedy “Deep Cover” from Amazon MGM Studios. Up next, he will be starring alongside Pete Davidson and Naomi Scott in David Michôd’s “Wizards.”
When asked about his choice of roles at this point in his career, Bloom shared his perspective in a previous interview with THR. “I feel like in some ways, I was almost being groomed to be a movie star when I was younger, and now all bets are off,” said Bloom. “I want to burn the barn down with my performance. I’m not afraid of anything anymore.”
