New Series “Last Lands” Premieres on Disney+ and Hulu

Disney’s award-winning documentary series, “Last Lands,” is back with a new season coming to Disney+ and Hulu. This series, which has been nominated for multiple Emmys, delves into the vital work of protecting our planet’s most threatened ecosystems in Guatemala’s El Mirador and Panama’s Coiba National Park.

Hosted by ABC News correspondent Bob Woodruff, “Last Lands” follows the conservation efforts to safeguard Earth’s natural beauty and endangered species. Woodruff takes viewers on a journey to Central America to showcase the critical role national parks play as sanctuaries for wildlife and the environment. The series also highlights the unsung heroes working tirelessly to protect these valuable spaces.

In a recent statement, Woodruff emphasized the importance of raising awareness about the threats facing the world’s national parks. He believes that preserving these spaces is essential for future generations to experience the beauty and wonders of nature that we often take for granted.

The upcoming season will feature two episodes focusing on El Mirador and Coiba National Park. El Mirador, once a thriving Mayan city, is now hidden beneath a dense rainforest. Woodruff explores this ancient site through the lens of the park rangers who risk their lives to protect it. Meanwhile, Coiba National Park, located off the coast of Panama, is now a haven for marine life, including sharks and humpback whales. Woodruff delves into the challenges faced by this unique ecosystem, including illegal trafficking routes.

Executive produced by Seni Tienabeso, season 1 of “Last Lands” received a Webby Award in the Sustainability & Environment category. The new season will premiere on ABC News Live, Disney+, and Hulu on October 16th, 2025, with the second episode airing on October 23rd, 2025.
