Hulu Adds Two Massive Shark Attack Movies Post-Jaws 50th Anniversary
This summer has been a big one for shark movies, with the 50th anniversary of Jaws and the release of some new shark thrillers. While Jaws made a splash back in the day as the original summer blockbuster, this year saw the release of Dangerous Animals, which got some solid reviews as an indie shark thriller. To keep the shark frenzy going, Hulu added two big shark movies to its streaming lineup.
The Meg and Meg 2: The Trench are now available on Hulu, offering subscribers some oversized shark action. These movies are a far cry from the more grounded and suspenseful Jaws, as they focus on the extinct Megaladons rather than a classic great white shark. But don’t worry, these films bring plenty of over-the-top thrills and crazy action to the screen.
The Meg, released in 2018, made a huge splash at the box office with a whopping $529 million in earnings. Its sequel, Meg 2: The Trench, came out five years later and raked in nearly $398 million.
In addition to these shark flicks, Hulu has added a bunch of other movies to its lineup this month. On October 1st, hits like How to Train Your Dragon, Clueless, and Mean Girls joined the streaming service’s library. You can check out the full list of new arrivals for September below, and get ready for some epic movie nights with Hulu.
With sharks on the brain after the Jaws anniversary, these new additions to Hulu’s streaming lineup are sure to make a splash. So grab your popcorn, queue up The Meg, and get ready for some larger-than-life shark action on your screen. Happy streaming!
