2025 Smurfs Movie Streaming Release Before End of Summer

The Smurfs movie is a hit with kids, and let’s face it, taking the whole family to the theater can be pricey these days. With so many exciting releases this year, it’s no wonder many of us are eagerly waiting for movies to hit streaming platforms—and the good news is, Smurfs is on that list.

As a Paramount Pictures movie, Smurfs will make its streaming debut on Paramount+. Studios are increasingly keeping their content in-house for streaming, so it’s no surprise that the blue gang will be heading to this platform first. While exclusivity on Paramount+ may not last forever, it tends to keep its content for a while before branching out to other streamers.

So, when can we expect to see the Smurfs streaming? Paramount Pictures usually releases its movies on a streaming platform about 45 days after their theatrical debut, bypassing the traditional 90-day window. This means we could be enjoying Smurfs on Paramount+ sometime in early-to-mid-September, just in time before the official end of summer.

Excitingly, there’s already a set Digital release date for Smurfs—mark your calendars for Friday, Aug. 15. While Digital releases typically land on Tuesdays, there’s been a trend lately to opt for Friday dates, especially for family-friendly flicks. As for the DVD release date, it usually follows a few months after the Digital release, so we might expect it around the middle of October.
