Peacock Big 12 Men’s Basketball Package: What You Need to Know

The Big 12 is about to unveil a brand new package of 20 men’s regular-season basketball games that will be available for streaming on Peacock starting in 2025, according to sources familiar with the situation. This exciting development comes as a result of a sublicense agreement between Fox Sports and NBC, thanks to the efforts of Fox Sports EVP Jordan Bazant, NBC Sports President Rick Cordella, and Big 12 Commissioner Brett Yormark.

Although the financial specifics of this multiyear partnership have not been disclosed yet, the official announcement is expected to be made today. What’s incredibly noteworthy about this deal is that it marks a big moment for the Big 12, as it will now have its content showcased on all five major networks in the college sports realm, including Fox, ESPN, NBC, CBS, and TNT. This move is strategic, aiming to showcase the Big 12’s value to these media partners before their current broader media rights deal with ESPN and Fox Sports expires in 2031.

This isn’t the first time the Big 12 has made a significant broadcast deal. Just last year, they partnered with CBS Sports to air 20 men’s basketball games per year and 26 games in total, through a sublicense agreement with ESPN. Commissioner Yormark has been vocal about the long-term value that men’s basketball could bring to the league, especially when coupled with their on-court success, like national runner-up Houston this past year.
