Last year was a big one for anime on Netflix, with 33 anime titles making it into the Global Top 10 rankings. That’s more than double the number from 2021! The streamer reported that anime content was viewed over 1 billion times worldwide in 2024, showing just how popular this genre has become.

To meet the high demand, Netflix now offers dubbed anime titles in up to 33 languages. And fans seem to love it, with 80 to 90 percent of users choosing to watch anime in dubbed format.

One highly anticipated upcoming release is Sakamoto Days, a thrilling action series about a former hitman who becomes a family man. The show’s first season spent 10 weeks on Netflix’s Global Top 10 list and was a hit in 54 countries, including Japan, Korea, and France. It’s clear that anime is truly a global phenomenon, and Netflix is doubling down on bringing the best of the genre to its viewers.
