What to Watch This Weekend:
1. Heads Of State (Prime Video):
John Cena and Idris Elba team up as a U.S. President and UK Prime Minister in this buddy comedy about bickering heads of state facing a foreign adversary. It promises to be silly and lighthearted, perfect for summer viewing.
2. The Old Guard 2 (Netflix):
Charlize Theron leads a group of immortal fantasy heroes against a new evil in this sequel to Netflix’s action-packed 2020 movie. Uma Thurman plays the menacing villain, so this one should be action-packed.
3. Sandman — Season 2, Volume 1 (Netflix):
The popular Neil Gaiman fantasy series returns with the first part of its second and final season. If you’re a fan of the show, this is definitely one to watch.
4. Mr. Robot — Season 1-4 (Netflix):
This phenomenal hacker-thriller is now available for streaming on Netflix. If you haven’t seen it yet, now’s the perfect time to dive in.
5. Sinners (HBO Max):
An excellent movie with a 4K Blu-Ray release coming soon, “Sinners” is now available on HBO Max. It may remind you of “From Dusk Till Dawn” but has its own unique charm.
6. Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League (HBO Max):
If you’re a fan of Batman and anime, this sequel to 2018’s “Batman Ninja” is a must-watch. The Caped Crusader takes on the Yakuza League in what promises to be an action-packed adventure.
In Theaters:
“Jurassic World Rebirth” is now playing in theaters. Directed by Gareth Edwards, this dino-movie follows Scarlett Johansson’s Zora Bennett and her team as they navigate the original Jurassic Park. While reviews are mixed, sometimes you just need to experience action and suspense on the big screen.
What’s Streaming Weekly:
Don’t miss “Countdown” on Prime Video, a thrilling race-against-the-clock led by Jensen Ackles. With murder, conspiracy, and the threat of mass casualties, this one is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat.
