New Show Ousts ‘The Waterfront’ in Netflix’s Top 10 Rankings
Looks like it’s time for a new champion on Netflix’s top 10 list! The Waterfront has finally been dethroned by none other than Squid Game’s highly anticipated third season. We all saw this coming, right?
Squid Game has a solid history of dominating the charts, with season 1 holding the title of the most-watched season in Netflix history. Season 2 was a top contender too, landing in the top 5. And now, with season 3 dropping in with a six-episode finale, it was pretty much guaranteed to claim the #1 spot. No surprises there!
The Waterfront had a good run at the top, but we all knew it was just a matter of time before Squid Game made its move. If Squid Game hadn’t swooped in, The Waterfront likely would have held its ground for a while longer. With talks of a second season brewing, it’s clear that viewers are eager for more water-based crime dramas like the ones we’ve seen in the past.
Speaking of Squid Game, this season is generating some buzz. Critics seem to be on board with this latest installment, even though audience scores have dropped a bit. I’m halfway through and can’t figure out why, especially after that killer Episode 2. And although this is supposed to be the final season, the creator has hinted at a spin-off between seasons 1 and 2 and hasn’t completely ruled out the possibility of a sequel. Exciting stuff!
Oh, and let’s not forget about other favorites on the list. Ginny and Georgia are still going strong, with a fourth season already in the works. And America’s Sweethearts: The Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders seem to be capturing audiences’ attention, despite my confusion. And for those looking for a binge-watch, both Animal Kingdom and Blindspot are ripe for the picking with plenty of seasons to dive into.
Now, the big question is how long Squid Game season 3 will reign supreme. My bet is on at least two weeks, given Netflix’s lineup shuffle for this release. But with fewer episodes in this season, viewers might finish up quicker than expected. Guess we’ll just have to wait and see how it all plays out!
