New Kpop-themed Animated Movie on Netflix: A Fun and Exciting Watch
Netflix has just dropped a new animated movie that’s all about K-pop and demon-hunting, and let me tell you, it’s a total blast. Even if you’re not a hardcore K-pop fan like me, you’ll still have a great time watching KPop Demon Hunters.
Directed by Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans, this movie comes from the same studio that brought us Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and The Mitchells vs. The Machines. The animation is absolutely stunning, with vibrant colors and tons of energy. The story is equally exciting, with epic action scenes and an original K-pop soundtrack that will have you dancing in your seat.
The main characters are three K-pop idols named Rumi, Mira, and Zoey, who rule the charts by day and fight demons by night. Things get really interesting when they come face to face with their toughest rivals yet: The Saja Boys, a boy band made up of demons that are as alluring as they are dangerous. I won’t spoil the plot, but I will say that even if you’re new to K-pop, you’ll still appreciate all the nods to real-life K-pop stars and their devoted fans.
The creators of this movie clearly have a deep love for the genre, and it shows in every frame. And of course, a K-pop movie wouldn’t be complete without a killer soundtrack. Tracks like “Golden” and “Takedown” are total showstoppers and could easily dominate the charts in real life. Plus, members of the K-pop group TWICE lend their voices to a special version of “Takedown” that’s featured in the end credits and has inspired a TikTok dance challenge.
From the emotional journey of a pop star finding her true self to the dazzling visuals, KPop Demon Hunters delivers one spectacle after another. It’s pure escapist fun, and that’s exactly what you want from an animated movie.
In my opinion, this movie is a must-watch for any K-pop fan or animation enthusiast. So grab some popcorn, crank up the volume, and get ready for a wild ride with KPop Demon Hunters.
