Taylor Sheridan’s Next Spinoff Signs a Iconic Hollywood Star

Acclaimed TV creator Taylor Sheridan is once again expanding his television empire, this time with a new Paramount+ spinoff of his hit series “Tulsa King” called “NOLA King”. The exciting news is that the one and only Samuel L. Jackson is set to star in this new venture. While there’s still a lot we don’t know about the show, today we’re diving into what’s been revealed so far about this eagerly anticipated addition to the Sheridan universe, and how he continues to draw in some of Hollywood’s biggest talents.

The Hollywood legend Samuel L. Jackson will be leading “NOLA King,” a fresh series spun off from “Tulsa King”. In fact, he’s expected to make appearances in multiple episodes of the upcoming third season of “Tulsa King” before transitioning to the spinoff, which is slated to begin production in February.

Penned by Dave Erickson, who is also the brains behind “Mayor of Kingstown” and the ongoing season of “Tulsa King,” “NOLA King” will follow Jackson’s character, Russell Lee Washington Jr. Just like Sylvester Stallone’s Dwight “The General” Manfredi, Russell comes from the criminal underworld. Initially, he will clash with Dwight in “Tulsa King” before the action moves to New Orleans, where the spinoff’s narrative unfolds.

Filming for the third season of “Tulsa King” has been in progress for some time now, with scenes featuring Samuel L. Jackson expected to be shot in July. The project boasts executive producers like Sheridan, Erickson, David C. Glasser of 101 Studios, and others under Sheridan’s vast deal with MTV Entertainment Studios.

The idea for the spinoff reportedly stemmed from Chris McCarthy, President and CEO of Showtime and MTV Entertainment Studios, who was impressed by Sheridan’s “Yellowstone” franchise and its numerous offshoots. “NOLA King” is yet another exciting expansion of Sheridan’s TV world, showcasing his innate ability to attract top-tier talent from Hollywood.

Sheridan has a track record of roping in major stars into his television ventures, and Samuel L. Jackson joining “NOLA King” is just the latest example. In fact, the creator of “Yellowstone” has successfully grown it into a full-on franchise with spinoffs like “1883” and “1923”. For “1923,” stars like Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren were convinced to come on board, with Sheridan even narrating how Ford flew down to his Texas ranch for a meeting, where a few wine bottles helped seal the deal.

Now, with the addition of Samuel L. Jackson in “NOLA King,” the Sheridan TV universe is certainly buzzing with excitement. This move further solidifies the connections between his various shows, much like the interconnected “Yellowstone” franchise, giving fans yet another reason to stay tuned and follow the action.
