GBI Arrest in Baxley Murder Case

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation recently made an arrest in a tragic murder case in Baxley. Randall Peacock, Jr., a 25-year-old, has been charged with Felony Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Theft By Taking in connection to the death of his stepmother, Jessica Peacock, aged 36.

The incident took place on Tuesday, June 2, when the Appling County Sheriff’s Office responded to a distressing 911 call reporting the discovery of Jessica’s body by her husband at their residence on Altamaha School Road. The GBI investigation revealed that Randall shot and killed Jessica before fleeing the scene in her car. He was apprehended later that same day in Swainsboro and is currently detained in the Appling County Jail.

In light of this heartbreaking event, a GoFundMe page has been set up to assist with Jessica’s funeral costs. The fundraiser aims to honor Jessica’s memory and provide her with a dignified farewell that she deserves. Contributions, regardless of size, will help ease the financial burden on the grieving family, allowing them to focus on mourning and cherishing Jessica’s legacy.

During this difficult time, the outpouring of support from the community through donations, thoughts, prayers, and messages of compassion is deeply appreciated by Jessica’s loved ones. Your kindness and generosity will make a meaningful difference in ensuring Jessica is laid to rest with the respect and dignity she deserves.
