Peacock Cancels Comedy Series LAID After One Season

Peacock recently made the decision to cancel the show “LAID” after airing just one season. The series, which starred and was executive produced by Stephanie Hsu, had a catchy title, unique premise, and an all-star cast that kept viewers hooked.

Despite its intriguing storyline, “LAID” didn’t quite generate the buzz that the network had hoped for, which came as a disappointment to many fans. The show followed Ruby Yao, a 33-year-old single woman on a quest for love, who finds herself at the center of a mystery. After her ex-boyfriends start mysteriously dying in the order she slept with them, Ruby must confront her romantic past to uncover the truth and stop the murder spree.

Season one ended on a cliffhanger with Ruby’s estranged father showing up at her door, hinting at a possible continuation in a second season. It’s a letdown that viewers won’t get closure on this unresolved plotline.

In addition to Stephanie Hsu, the show featured Zosia Mamet, Tommy Martinez, Michael Angarano, and a range of talented guest stars including Andre Hyland, Kate Berlant, David Denman, and more.

While the cancellation of “LAID” is disappointing news, it’s not uncommon in the world of TV. Were you a fan of the show? Share your thoughts on the cancellation and let us know if you were hoping for a second season!
