NFL 2025 Brazil Game: Potential Streaming Service Host

The NFL is always trying out new things, and in 2024, they made history by hosting their first game in Brazil between the Green Bay Packers and Philadelphia Eagles. The game was a Friday night special, streamed exclusively on Peacock. Now, it looks like they’re gearing up for another exciting streaming event this year.

According to a recent report from Andrew Marchand of The Athletic, the Los Angeles Chargers will face off against an unknown opponent on September 5th, and the game is likely to be shown on YouTube. What’s interesting is that this partnership with YouTube is expected to be free for viewers around the world, not tied to any paid subscription. This means fans in the United States can also enjoy the game for free, while those with a subscription to YouTube TV can catch it on there too.

YouTube has never shown an NFL game before, so this is a big step for the platform. Marchand estimates that the cost for YouTube to stream the game will be around $105 million, similar to what Peacock paid for last year’s game.

We’ll have to wait until Wednesday when the 2025 NFL schedule is released to find out more details about this exciting event. Stay tuned for more updates on NFL news from Sports Illustrated.
