Committee to Explore Streaming Lyndeborough Meetings

Lyndeborough is considering the idea of live streaming Select Board public meetings and hearings online in the upcoming year. This initiative was discussed at the recent Board of Selectmen meeting where Ray Humphreys, Scott Roper, Mike Kalin, Bill Crouse, Tom Chrisenton, Charlie Post, and Kathleen Humphreys were appointed to the Public Meeting Video Study Committee. The committee, pushed forward by a petition warrant from Town Meeting, is set to present its findings at the next Town Meeting.

Additionally, Lyndeborough has received a BRIC grant totaling $7,593.75 to enhance the local hazard mitigation plan. BRIC stands for Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities, a program that aids states and local governments in such efforts. The town will need to match 25% of the grant, bringing the total contribution towards flood and pre-disaster mitigation to $10,125.

During the meeting, Town Clerk Trish Schultz proposed rounding tax bills to the nearest dollar to simplify payments for residents, citing complaints about dealing with change. Some selectmen like Howard Ray expressed that the current system is functional, while others like Bob Howe felt that if it’s not broken, why fix it.

It’s an exciting time for Lyndeborough as they explore new ways to engage with the community and enhance local services. Stay tuned for more updates on these developments!
