Meghan Markle creates Netflix show to critique royal family, says Whitney Cummings
Meghan Markle’s Netflix show, “With Love, Meghan,” has been the talk of the town lately, with comedian Whitney Cummings sharing her “hot take” that the show is really all about subtly roasting the royal family. According to Cummings, Markle’s decision to create this show was more about getting revenge on the royals after she and Prince Harry famously quit in 2020.
Cummings highlighted some interesting points from the show, like how Markle casually makes sun tea at home and emphasizes that tea should just be enjoyed, regardless of how fancy it is. She also pointed out how Markle makes her own fruit preserves because she finds store-bought jams too sweet, taking a subtle dig at King Charles, who has been making and selling his own jams since 2010.
In addition to her unique homemaking tips, Cummings noted how Markle walks around barefoot and doesn’t overly style her hair as ways of “trolling” the royal family. She suggested that Markle is sending a message to the royals that it’s not all about perfection.
While Cummings acknowledged that being a princess might be a nightmare, she also raised the possibility that Markle’s show could provide a more contemporary and realistic view of royalty for young girls to see. Despite some mixed reviews, “With Love, Meghan” has been renewed for a second season, showing that Markle’s foray into the lifestyle industry is here to stay.
