Hulu’s debut Oscars live stream experiences technical difficulties

Sunday night was supposed to be a big moment for Hulu as they live-streamed the Oscars for the first time. However, things didn’t go as planned. Just before the end of the show, the livestream cut off due to a scheduling issue, leaving viewers hanging as the final two major awards were still to be announced.

Instead of seeing the best actress and best picture categories, viewers were greeted with an error code message on Hulu, stating that the event was over. Understandably, people were not happy and took to social media to express their frustration.

Earlier in the evening, some users had trouble logging into the platform, adding to the technical issues Hulu faced during the Oscars ceremony. Disney, the parent company of Hulu, later issued an apology for the mishap and informed viewers that a replay of the event would be available for streaming on Monday.

It’s not the Oscars ending anyone expected, but Hulu is working to make things right after their live streaming mishap.
