Netflix releases trailer for The Electric State by the Russo Brothers

The Russo brothers, known for their work on Marvel films like Avengers: Endgame, have a new project coming out on Netflix this month. It’s called The Electric State and it’s based on a graphic novel by the talented Swedish artist Simon Stålenhag. If you’re a fan of Stålenhag’s work, you might be familiar with his other books like Tales from the Loop and Things From the Flood, which have been praised for their stunning visuals.

The story of The Electric State follows a young girl named Michelle, played by the amazing Millie Bobby Brown, who embarks on a cross-country journey with her robot companion in search of her missing brother. Along the way, she encounters a colorful cast of characters, including Chris Pratt as Dr. Amherst and Stanley Tucci as Ethan Skate. The film takes place in a dystopian world where robots and humans coexist, but tensions are high following a failed uprising by the robots.

Fans of Stålenhag’s original work might be interested to know that the Russo brothers have made some significant changes to the story. Some fans were disappointed to see that the film has a more colorful, 1990s aesthetic, rather than the eerie, haunting vibe of the source material. Despite the changes, the film promises to be an exciting adventure filled with mystery and suspense.

The Electric State is set to premiere on Netflix on March 14, 2025. Alongside Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt, the cast includes talented actors like Woody Norman, Ke Huy Quan, and Stanley Tucci. With such a talented lineup, this film is sure to be a hit with audiences looking for a thrilling and visually stunning experience.
