Watch ‘Wicked’: Bonus Features, Deleted Scenes, Commentary, Singalong Guide

“Wicked” fans were thrilled to dive into the movie and the three hours of bonus content, including a sing-along version, when the highly anticipated film landed on major streaming platforms this week. However, some fans were disappointed to find that after spending $30 to purchase the video, they couldn’t access the extras they were promised.

Several users took to Reddit and Facebook groups to express their frustration, with one user calling the situation a major flop and accusing it of being misleading. For most streaming services, the bonus features were available on the mobile apps under a Bonus Content tab or button, but not on larger screens as of Tuesday evening.

Amazon Prime Video users, as well as those on Apple TV+ and Microsoft Movies on Xbox, reported similar issues, with the YouTube version seemingly lacking the bonus features altogether. Amazon’s customer service acknowledged the problem and stated that their technical team was working on a solution, though no estimated timeframe was provided for the fix.

In the meantime, some workarounds have been discovered. Fans have found that purchasing “Wicked: Part 1” on Fandango at Home (formerly Vudu) ensures access to all the extras without any hassle. If you’ve already bought the movie on another platform, you can try watching the bonus features on the service’s mobile app. Make sure to switch your device to landscape mode for the menu options to appear, and you may be able to cast the features to your smart TV.

Another option is to download the Movies Anywhere app, create an account, and link your various streaming services to access all your digital movies in one place. Movies Anywhere allows seamless syncing of purchased movies across different platforms, making it easy to enjoy the bonus content you’ve been waiting for.

Despite the initial setbacks, the premiere of “Wicked: Part 1” marked a successful debut, setting records for the biggest opening of a movie based on a Broadway show and earning four Golden Globe nominations. The film is currently available for purchase or rental on digital platforms including Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV+, YouTube, and others.

For those eagerly awaiting the physical release, “Wicked” will be available on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD on Tuesday, February 4, 2025. The bonus content included with the home release offers fans three hours of extra features, such as deleted and extended scenes, behind-the-scenes glimpses, cast commentaries, and more. Despite the initial hiccups, fans can look forward to immersing themselves in the enchanting world of “Wicked” both on screen and off.
