January 2025 Streaming: New LGBTQ+ Content on Netflix, Max, Prime Video, Peacock, and Apple TV

Happy January 2025! We’re heading into a new year with some exciting stuff coming to our screens, focusing on lesbian, queer, bisexual, and/or trans characters that we’ve been missing out on. Let’s dive in and see what’s on the lineup!

Netflix is starting off the month strong with some new gay content. “Missing You,” a limited series starring trans actress Mary Malone, kicks things off on January 1. Followed by the complete seasons 1-7 of Darren Star’s “Younger” on January 7. Then, on January 16, we have the return of “XO Kitty” for Season 2, where our protagonist explores her bisexuality and dating girls. Finally, on January 28, catch the stand-up special from bisexual comic Liza Treyger in “Night Owl.”

Over on Peacock, Season 3 of “The Traitors” premieres on January 9, featuring a reality competition show with a twist that includes queers like Bob The Drag Queen and Chrishell Stause.

HBO Max brings us an intriguing new series called “Reframed: Next Gen Narratives” on January 1, where six filmmakers reimagine classic movies through a contemporary and super queer lens. Plus, Season 5 of “Harley Quinn” debuts on January 16, taking our favorite couple to Metropolis for some chaotic adventures.

Prime Video offers Season 2 of “The Rig” on January 2, starring queer actor Emily Hampshire and featuring the character Cat. Then, on January 25, prepare for Season 3 of “Harlem,” where core characters navigate new changes and relationships.

Finally, Apple TV+ presents Season Four of “Mythic Quest” on January 29, promising new challenges and beloved queer storylines for the reunited team at Mythic Quest.
