tvOS 18.2 Update Removes Apple TV+ Screen Savers, Highlights Snoopy

Apple TV users can look forward to a fun update coming in December with the release of tvOS 18.2. The update will bring a new selection of Snoopy-themed screen savers to Apple TV models from 2021 onwards. Fans of the beloved character will surely enjoy this playful addition to their viewing experience.

However, it seems that Apple has decided to make some changes to the planned screen savers. The previously announced “TV and Movies” category, which was set to feature visuals from popular Apple TV+ series and films, has been quietly removed from the update. This includes the preview for a screen saver based on the hit series Foundation.

While Snoopy will be making an appearance in the update, it looks like other Apple TV+ screen savers won’t be included in tvOS 18.2. Despite this change, the update will still offer a variety of screen saver categories, including Aerials and Memories. Additionally, the Portraits option, which was introduced in tvOS 18.0, now includes clocks as well.

Although some users may be disappointed by the delay in the “TV and Movies” screen savers, it’s clear that Apple is placing a focus on Snoopy for this update. It will be interesting to see how users respond to this shift in emphasis when the update rolls out.
