Apple TV+ highly-anticipated big name sequel cancelled
Apple TV+ fans were hit with some disappointing news recently—the highly-anticipated sequel to the hit movie “Wolfs” has been cancelled. Although many were looking forward to seeing more from this fan-favorite film, it seems like we won’t be getting a follow-up after all.
The director of “Wolfs,” Jon Watts, made it clear that the decision to scrap the sequel was not Apple’s but his own. Despite the success of the first movie, which starred A-list actors like George Clooney and Brad Pitt, Watts decided to walk away from the project after some unexpected changes from Apple. He mentioned that the sudden shift from a theatrical release to streaming caught him off guard and led him to lose trust in Apple as a creative partner.
It’s a shame for fans of the original movie, especially since “Wolfs” left things open for a potential sequel. While there was hope for a follow-up, it seems unlikely now that Watts has withdrawn his work. Whether he will be able to pitch the sequel elsewhere remains to be seen, but it’s clear that there’s some tension between Watts and Apple.
As much as fans would love to see a sequel to “Wolfs,” for now, it looks like we’ll have to accept that it’s not meant to be. Stay tuned for more updates on Apple TV+ and other streaming news to see what’s coming next in the world of entertainment.
