Gracenote, a division of Nielsen known for its content data, has just launched an exciting new tool called the Data Hub. This hub aims to provide valuable insight into the world of subscription video on-demand (SVOD) programming, allowing users to stay up-to-date on global content trends and developments over time. By utilizing Gracenote’s extensive TV show and movie information database, known as the Gracenote Global Video Data, the Data Hub visually displays the current content makeup of popular platforms like Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV+, Disney+, Netflix, and Paramount+.

The Gracenote Data Hub is a powerful addition to Nielsen’s suite of tools, including The Gauge and The Media Distributor Gauge, which track audience engagement across various streaming services. Trent Wheeler, the chief product officer at Gracenote, emphasized the importance of data transparency in driving successful business decisions. He stated, “Gracenote data has long been trusted by the global video ecosystem to power advanced content discovery and engaging entertainment experiences. Through new resources tapping our data, we’re enabling clear visibility into catalogue volume and composition as well as content makeup and characteristics to help inform business decisions that drive success.”

In addition to the Data Hub, Gracenote has released its 2024 State of Play report. This report offers a deep dive into the content data of Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV+, Disney+, Netflix, and Paramount+, highlighting key programming trends and providing valuable insights for businesses. This report marks the third edition of this annual publication, cementing Gracenote’s commitment to providing cutting-edge data solutions for the streaming entertainment industry.
