Netflix to Produce Thriller Series ‘They’ll Never Catch Us’ by Juliet Lashinksy-Revene & Jessica Goodman, in Collaboration with Blumhouse
Netflix has launched development on They’ll Never Catch Us, a series adaptation of the bestselling thriller novel by Jessica Goodman from Blumhouse Television, sources tell Deadline. Published by Razorbill in July 2021, the book revolves around a small town’s high school women’s cross-country team and the secrets unleashed when its star runner is murdered. Goodman and Juliet Lashinsky-Revene are co-writing the adaptation and will exec produce alongside Blumhouse.
Goodman, a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, has her debut novel, They Wish They Were Us, currently in development with Sydney Sweeney’s production company Fifty-Fifty Films. She has also seen her works translated into 14 languages and has held editorial positions at various publications like Entertainment Weekly and HuffPost. Goodman’s work has been published in outlets such as The Cut, Elle, Glamour, and Marie Claire. She has a diverse background, having been the op-ed editor at Cosmopolitan magazine and part of the 2017 team that won a National Magazine Award in personal service.
Lashinsky-Revene, currently a co-executive producer on ABC’s hit series Will Trent, has previously worked on Law & Order: Organized Crime, writing and producing episodes for several seasons of Dick Wolf’s NBC procedural. She has also worked on USA’s Dirty John and Paramount+’s Sexy Beast, and developed an original drama titled Demons for Hulu, inspired by true events from the satanic panic of the 1980s.
