KU Basketball Documentary Series Premieres Saturday

A new documentary series is set to premiere on Paramount+ this Saturday, featuring behind-the-scenes footage of the Kansas and Michigan men’s basketball teams. The series, titled “Made for March,” offers fans an intimate look at the 2025-26 season with both powerhouse teams.

KU coach Bill Self, who has long been hesitant to allow such access to his program, decided it was time to let the cameras in. In an interview on the CBS Sports “Eye on College Basketball” podcast, Self explained his reasoning, stating that he wanted to experience something new and offer fans a unique perspective on the Jayhawks.

Despite past reservations, Self opened up about his decision to grant the crew unprecedented access to moments in the locker room, interactions with his family, and even the challenges faced by player Darryn Peterson throughout the season. The players themselves found the experience eye-opening, with forward Justin Cross describing it as a “different lens” into their daily lives.

During the filming, the crew followed the team all the way to the NCAA Tournament in San Diego, where players like Melvin Council Jr. and Jamari McDowell shared their thoughts on being part of the documentary. Council Jr. mentioned that while it was initially strange to have cameras around, they soon got used to it and were encouraged to be themselves.

The players are excited to see how the documentary captures pivotal moments of their season, including their success at the Players Era tournament in Las Vegas.
