Neemias Queta scores 24 points to lead Celtics past Wizards
The Boston Celtics bounced back from a two-game losing streak with an impressive 111-100 win over the Washington Wizards at TD Garden. The Celtics dominated the second quarter, outscoring the Wizards 35-14, and built a 30-point lead in the third quarter. Even though the Wizards made a late surge in the fourth quarter, the Celtics held on for the win.
Neemias Queta led the scoring with an impressive 24 points, hitting a career-high 11 shots. Meanwhile, Jayson Tatum had a standout performance, becoming the first Celtic since Paul Pierce in 2005 to record at least 20 points, 14 rebounds, seven assists, and two steals in a regular-season game.
With this victory, the Celtics (44-23) now hold a 1.5-game lead over the Knicks for second place in the Eastern Conference. They will face off against the Phoenix Suns next on Monday night at TD Garden.
It was a solid team effort, with six Celtics players scoring in double figures. The second quarter surge and strong individual performances powered the Celtics to a much-needed win. Check out the Celtics-Wizards live blog below for a detailed recap of the game.
