Netflix considering special on ex-Prince Andrew’s downfall: ‘The Crown’ revival possible

Netflix is considering bringing back “The Crown” to cover former Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s connection to Jeffrey Epstein in a special limited series. This news has caused a buzz in Hollywood as the streamer explores the possibility of digging into the royal scandal.

Sources reveal that the team behind “The Crown” has been in discussions about creating one-off specials focused on royal scandals and dramas, with the potential for an entire limited series dedicated to the Andrew saga. This revival comes after the original show ended its six-season run, garnering a total of 21 Emmy awards.

Not only Netflix but also Disney Studios and Amazon MGM are reportedly interested in developing projects related to Mountbatten-Windsor’s downfall. Screenwriter Jeremy Brock, who wrote Amazon MGM Studio’s “A Very Royal Scandal,” confirmed that both Netflix and Amazon are considering producing a drama based on the scandal.

The former prince was arrested on his 66th birthday on suspicion of misconduct for allegedly sharing confidential trade documents with Epstein. If convicted, he could face a life sentence, prompting discussions about his removal from the royal line of succession.

King Charles released a statement following his brother’s arrest, expressing his deepest concern over the accusations and emphasizing that the law must take its course. The British government is now contemplating potential legislation to address Andrew’s position in the royal family.
