Optimize Your Home Screen with New Roku TV Feature

Roku’s home screen is pretty user-friendly, but there’s always room for improvement, right? Well, good news! A recent software update, Roku OS 15.1, is here to help. This update is all about making your home screen more organized and personalized, building on the previous big update, Roku OS 15.0, which added features like HDR10+ and Dolby Vision passthrough.

So, what’s new in Roku OS 15.1? One of the key additions is the “Subscriptions” tab, located on the left side of your home screen. This nifty tab pulls together content from all your streaming subscriptions, like Disney+, Hulu, Prime Video, and more. It categorizes everything neatly, from “Popular” picks to “Newly Added” shows, making it easier for you to keep up with all the latest releases and binge-worthy series.

But wait, there’s more! Roku now lets you adjust the size of the tiles on your home screen. By default, they’re in a 3-by-3 grid, which can feel a bit overwhelming on larger TVs. The good news is you can now switch to smaller tiles and even hide certain categories on the side. This customization feature gives you more control over your home screen, making it more tailored to your preferences.

To tweak these settings, simply go to Settings > Home Screen on your Roku device. From there, you can change the tile size to “Smaller” or “Larger” and hide the “Subscriptions” tab or other tabs like Sports, Live TV, and Daily Trivia. It’s a great way to declutter your home screen and keep things tidy.

While these new features won’t solve all the minor annoyances of using a Roku device, they do make the home screen more user-friendly and customizable. So, go ahead and give your Roku TV a little makeover for a more personalized streaming experience!
