Parents of Child Killer Lucy Letby Criticize Netflix Documentary for Privacy Invasion

Lucy Letby’s parents have expressed their frustration over a new documentary that they feel invades their privacy. The film, titled “The Investigation of Lucy Letby,” includes footage of the former nurse being arrested at their family home. Susan and John Letby, for the first time, shared their concerns publicly, stating that the senior investigating officer appeared to have a bias against them. Lucy Letby, who was found guilty of horrific crimes, is serving 15 whole life sentences for the murders of seven babies and the attempted murders of seven others at the Countess of Chester Hospital between 2015 and 2016.

The documentary, set to air on Netflix, provides previously unseen glimpses of Letby’s arrest, with footage showing officers entering her bedroom as she is informed of her arrest. Letby’s parents have made it clear that they will not watch the film, fearing that it will attract unwanted attention to their home. They expressed their distress over the use of footage from their private residence, shared without their knowledge.

Despite Letby’s convictions, her legal team has raised doubts about the safety of her trial, prompting calls for a possible retrial. Dame Esther Rantzen has joined those voices, urging a reevaluation of the evidence against Letby. Additionally, senior Tory MP Sir David Davis has suggested that Letby deserves a retrial, criticizing the original proceedings as biased.

Following an investigation into allegations of further child deaths and collapses at hospitals where Letby worked, the Crown Prosecution Service has stated that no additional charges will be brought against her. While Letby remains in prison serving her sentence, questions continue to swirl around the details of her case, sparking debate about justice and accountability.
