Next James Bond: Popular Actor in Talks with Director
Jacob Elordi is reportedly in talks to step into the iconic role of James Bond, following in the footsteps of Daniel Craig. The 28-year-old actor, known for his role in “Euphoria,” has been rumored to be in discussions with director Denis Villeneuve (“Dune”) and producers about taking on the role of Agent 007.
While Elordi’s potential casting has sparked a lot of buzz among fans and actors alike, with many questioning whether his height at 6’5″ would be a good fit for the character. Some took to social media to humorously suggest that he might have trouble fitting in small spaces as Bond. Despite the height debate, Elordi’s name continues to circulate in discussions about the future of the franchise.
On the other hand, actor Riz Ahmed, known for “Sound of Metal,” has thrown his hat in the ring, expressing his interest in playing James Bond. While promoting his new series “Bait,” Ahmed playfully mentioned that the role could be his “audition” for the part, challenging anyone to watch the show and not see him as a contender for the iconic role.
The release date for the next James Bond film has not been confirmed, but reports have suggested that Villeneuve is seeking a “fresh face” for the role in the upcoming installment. Additionally, there is a preference for casting a British actor, which could potentially be a hindrance for Australian-born Elordi.
What we do know is that the next James Bond film will be produced under Amazon’s MGM studios after a deal in February 2025. In the meantime, fans can look forward to Ahmed’s series “Bait,” where he plays a struggling actor who finds himself in a whirlwind after his James Bond audition goes viral. The series is set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on March 25.
