HBO Max offers bundle subscription with German streamer RTL+
HBO Max is making waves across the pond, as the U.S. streaming giant announces a partnership with German streamer RTL+. Starting on January 13, subscribers in Germany can enjoy a curated bundle of content from both platforms.
With RTL+’s live sports and local language dramas paired with HBO Max’s original series like “The White Lotus” and fan-favorite movies like “Sinners,” this collaboration offers viewers a unique blend of entertainment options. For €11.99 a month with ads or €17.99 ad-free, subscribers can access this joint package, which would otherwise cost around $18 and $33 separately.
Stephan Schmitter, CEO of RTL Germany, is excited about the joint venture, calling it a “great combination of two terrific content worlds.” This move not only marks the introduction of HBO Max in Germany but also sets the stage for its upcoming launches in Italy and the U.K. later this year.
It’s worth noting that HBO Max and RTL+ have a longstanding relationship, with RTL’s media sales house, Ad Alliance, handling ad sales for HBO Max. This partnership further solidifies the bond between these two content powerhouses, promising an exciting lineup for audiences in Germany.
In the ever-evolving world of streaming services, bundling has become a key strategy for success. HBO Max joins the ranks of other streaming giants like Netflix and Disney+ in expanding its international footprint. As more partnerships like these emerge, viewers can expect a wider range of entertainment options and a more seamless streaming experience across borders.
