Top TV Shows Renewed for 2026-2027 Season

2026 is shaping up to be a great year for TV fans, with several popular shows officially renewed for new seasons. Paramount+ surprised viewers by giving Landman a third season renewal even before the second season concluded. This series, inspired by the “Boomtown” podcast, delves into the West Texas oil industry through the eyes of crisis executive Tommy Norris and his family. Starring Billy Bob Thornton, this show premiered in 2024 and has been a hit with audiences.

Industry-watchers also noted that Landman’s season two premiere set a new record for Paramount+ with over 9.2 million streaming views in its first two days, surpassing season one’s debut numbers. Over at CBS, Boston Blue, a spinoff of Blue Bloods, will return for a second season along with Sheriff Country, a spinoff of Fire Country.

CBS President Amy Reisenbach highlighted the success of these series, crediting their character-driven tales and exceptional storytelling chemistry for the early renewals. She noted that Sheriff Country has been a Friday night favorite, boasting an average of 7.6 million viewers, while the stalwart Blue Bloods drew in 8 million viewers.

For 2026-2027, several other shows have also secured renewals, including Platonic and Down Cemetery on Apple TV+, Wild Cards on The CW, Alien: Earth on FX, and When Calls the Heart on Hallmark. HBO’s lineup features renewals for A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, House of the Dragon, and Task.
