Tyler Perry sued for alleged sexual assault by aspiring actor

Tyler Perry is facing a lawsuit from actor Mario Rodriguez, known for his role as “Frat Guy No. 10” in 2016’s Boo! A Madea Halloween. The lawsuit, filed on December 25, alleges that Perry made unwanted sexual advances towards Rodriguez over several years, including instances of sexual assault and battery at Perry’s home in Los Angeles. Rodriguez is also suing Lionsgate, the distributor of the film, for allegedly ignoring Perry’s behavior. The actor is seeking $77 million in damages.

In response to these accusations, Perry’s lawyer, Alex Spiro, has denied the claims, calling them a “failed money grab.” Rodriguez had previously shared a video on Instagram, expressing his fear and shame about coming forward with his story involving a powerful director, without naming Perry.

The complaint filed by Rodriguez details instances of alleged misconduct, including Perry’s purported advances towards him, inappropriate touching, and offers to take care of him if he complied. Despite refusing Perry’s advances multiple times, Rodriguez claims to have received money from the filmmaker.

This lawsuit comes after another actor, Derek Dixon, accused Perry of similar misconduct earlier this year. Perry’s legal representatives have denied these claims as well, calling Dixon’s accusations a scam. The situation is ongoing, and updates may follow as the story develops.
