Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua: 33 Million Viewers on Netflix
Jake Paul’s recent fight against former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua was a hit on Netflix, drawing in a whopping 33 million viewers around the world. The fight, which took place at Kaseya Center in Miami, quickly became Netflix’s No. 1 program in 45 different countries, including the U.S., U.K., Canada, Germany, Australia, Mexico, and Argentina. In addition to these impressive numbers, an estimated 600,000 viewers also tuned in to watch the fight at various commercial properties.
This event marked the second major boxing match to be streamed on Netflix this year, following a fight between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford, which brought in 41.5 million viewers. Jake Paul’s previous event in November 2024 against Mike Tyson holds the record for the most-streamed sporting event ever on Netflix, with a peak of 108 million viewers.
Despite being the underdog, Jake Paul gave it his all against Anthony Joshua, a former Olympic gold medalist and two-time heavyweight world champion. Some critics questioned the decision by the Florida Athletic Commission to approve the fight, but Paul stepped into the ring with determination. Unfortunately, he was knocked out in the sixth round by a powerful right hand from Joshua, resulting in a broken jaw for Paul.
Even with this setback, Jake Paul has shown resilience, making light of his injury on social media and promising a return to boxing. The event was a success, co-promoted by Paul’s Most Valuable Productions and EverWonder, and it generated the highest boxing gate revenue in Kaseya Center’s history.
