Top TV Shows of 2025

This past year brought a plethora of fantastic TV shows that are definitely worth a watch. In 2025, I had the pleasure of watching two dozen shows, and let me tell you, it was a pretty outstanding year for television. The Hollywood strikes of 2023 left us feeling a bit underwhelmed last year, but 2025 more than made up for it with a slate of captivating series that had me hooked from start to finish.

I initially thought about combining my favorite TV shows with my upcoming list of top movies, but after watching so many great shows, I realized they deserved their own spotlight. From returning favorites like “Severance” and “The White Lotus” to new hits like “The Pitt” and “The Studio,” and even surprises like the revival of “King of the Hill,” there was no shortage of phenomenal content to enjoy.

New shows really stole the spotlight this year, with four of my top five picks being fresh, exciting series. Before I get into my top 10 shows of 2025, let’s give a shout-out to some honorable mentions. FX’s “Alien: Earth” offered a trippy twist on the iconic franchise, and if it wasn’t for a lackluster finale, it might have cracked my top 10. I also enjoyed the latest season of “The Bear,” a show I found myself binging after the hype died down, and boy, was it worth it!

Now, without further ado, here are my top 10 TV shows of 2025:

10. “The White Lotus” season 3 (HBO)
Even though this season may be considered the weakest of the series, it’s still better than a lot of other TV out there.

9. “Hacks” season 4 (HBO Max)
Despite sticking to a familiar formula, the writing and performances on this show continue to impress.

8. “Severance” season 2 (Apple TV)
While the second season had its ups and downs, the high points of this series are truly some of the best of recent years.

7. “King of the Hill” season 14 (Hulu)
The revival of this beloved show surprised me with its humor and heartwarming moments, proving that some things never go out of style.

6. “The Rehearsal” season 2 (HBO)
Nathan Fielder’s genius shone through in this season, which felt almost prescient in its storytelling.

5. “Pluribus” season 1 (Apple TV)
Despite claims of it being “boring,” this meticulous and methodical show captivated me with its world-building and character development.

4. “Andor” season 2 (Disney+)
After a slow start, this “Star Wars” story took off and established itself as one of the best of the Disney era.

3. “The Studio” season 1 (Apple TV)
This show felt tailor-made for me with its jokes, references, and engaging storytelling.

2. “The Pitt” season 1 (HBO Max)
A thrilling series that kept me on the edge of my seat—I couldn’t help but binge-watch it in batches.

1. “Adolescence” season 1 (Netflix)
A thought-provoking and essential series that delves into the challenges facing young men today, offering a warning rather than a simple murder mystery.

2025 truly delivered some exceptional TV shows, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for the small screen. Stay tuned for my upcoming list of the best movies of the year—I’ve got some catching up to do!
