Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Unfair First Look Honors Original Series

Fans of the classic sitcom “Malcolm in the Middle” have something to look forward to in 2026. Hulu has released a teaser for the upcoming revival series “Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair,” which will consist of four episodes available on Hulu and Disney+.

The teaser pays homage to the original series, featuring a scene where Bryan Cranston’s character, Hal, gets his back shaved by Jane Kaczmarek’s character, Lois. The teaser shows someone getting their back shaved, with the hair forming the show’s logo.

According to the teaser’s Instagram caption, “Some things never change. #MalcolmInTheMiddle Life’s Still Unfair, a special four-part event, streams 2026.”

The revival picks up over a decade later, with Malcolm (played by Frankie Muniz) shielding himself and his daughter from his family. However, he is brought back into his family’s orbit when his parents, Hal and Lois, demand his presence at their 40th-anniversary party.

In addition to Muniz, the revival will feature original cast members Chris Kennedy Masterson, Justin Berfield, and Emy Coligado, reprising their roles as Francis, Reese, and Piama, respectively. New cast members include Keeley Karsten as Leah, Malcolm’s daughter; Vaughan Murrae as Kelly, Malcolm’s youngest sibling; Kiana Madeira as Tristan, Malcolm’s girlfriend; and Caleb Ellsworth-Clark as Dewey.
