Netflix Responds to Diddy’s Claims About ‘Sean Combs: The Reckoning’

Netflix recently responded to claims made by Sean “Diddy” Combs and his team about their new docuseries, “Sean Combs: The Reckoning,” calling them false. According to a Netflix spokesperson, the footage used in the series was legally obtained and not part of any previous discussions between Combs and the streaming service. The spokesperson made it clear that the series is not a hit piece, nor is it an act of retribution. Although Curtis Jackson is an executive producer, he does not have creative control over the project, and no one was paid to participate.

Director Alexandria Stapleton also defended the series, stating that all footage was legally acquired with the necessary rights. She mentioned Combs’ habit of filming himself over the decades and disclosed that they had tried to secure an interview with Combs’ legal team multiple times but did not receive a response.

Combs’ representatives, on the other hand, claimed that Combs has been collecting footage since he was 19 to tell his story his way. However, Netflix asserts that they are not twisting his words in any way. This clarification comes after Combs and his team criticized the series as a “shameful hit piece” that included unauthorized footage.
