2026 SAG Awards Predictions for Every Category
The Actor Awards are coming up, and the buzz is building as nominations are just around the corner. With a voting body of over 122,000 SAG-AFTRA performers, these awards often reflect popular tastes and mainstream appeal.
This year’s eligibility window spans from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31, 2025, promising a competitive field across all categories. However, past trends show a preference for English-language performances, which could impact international contenders despite critical acclaim.
The ensemble category is packed with talent. Warner Bros.’s “One Battle After Another” is kicking things off as a frontrunner with a star-studded cast featuring Leonardo DiCaprio and Sean Penn. Universal’s “Wicked: For Good” brings Broadway pedigree and cultural buzz thanks to Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande. Netflix’s “Jay Kelly” also joins the race with heavy hitters like George Clooney and Adam Sandler.
Last year’s winner, Timothée Chalamet, is back with A24’s “Marty Supreme.” Fun fact: no film actor has ever won back-to-back SAG Awards, so the field is wide open for a new contender to shine.
Leonardo DiCaprio makes a return with “One Battle After Another,” continuing his streak of major studio collaborations. On the other hand, Ethan Hawke is a rising star in many eyes, particularly for Sony Pictures Classics’ “Blue Moon.” With years of industry experience and a solid reputation among actors, Hawke is a dark horse to watch.
While some international performances may face barriers due to the guild’s historical preferences, Stellan Skarsgård’s role in [Missing Content] has the potential to break through. Keep an eye out for updates as we get closer to the big day!
