AEW Full Gear 2025: Brody King Dismisses Tony Khan Criticism
As Brody King gears up for a big title match at “AEW Full Gear 2025,” he’s shrugging off criticisms of Tony Khan. AEW has seen significant success since its launch in 2019, locking in a multiyear deal with Warner Bros. Discovery to keep their programming on TBS and streaming on HBO Max.
Despite the company’s achievements, some fans have called out AEW and Khan for how they handle bigger-sized talent on the roster. But in an interview with Newsweek Sports, King believes that these critics might not have the best intentions behind their remarks.
“Sometimes, it feels like people use that as an excuse,” King shared. “I genuinely think that hard work and determination will pay off in the end. With guys like me, Powerhouse Hobbs, and Big Bill in the mix, we’re proving that big men wrestling can thrive in AEW. It’s not just about small guys here. It seems like there’s this repeating narrative, but we’re here to shake things up.”
King, one half of the AEW World Tag Team Champions alongside Bandido, has seen their partnership skyrocket. While there were initial concerns when his tag team partner Buddy Matthews got injured, King managed to navigate that challenge and is now enjoying one of his most successful years in wrestling.
“When Buddy Matthews got injured, things were a bit uncertain,” King said. “But then teaming up with Bandido turned out to be a game-changer. We caught fire, and it’s been a great ride. I’m thrilled with how things have turned out this year.”
The formation of the Hounds of Hell team with Matthews was a result of Malakai Black’s departure from AEW. However, when Matthews was sidelined due to injury, Bandido stepped up to the plate and filled the void perfectly.
Reflecting on these changes, King shared, “Every time things get shaken up, I feel like I end up in a better place. From Ring of Honor closing down to joining AEW to forming the House of Black and now teaming up with Bandido, each shift has led to something new and exciting for me.”
King and Bandido’s unexpected tag team has taken the wrestling world by storm. The chemistry between the two stems from their longstanding friendship and mutual respect, making their partnership a force to be reckoned with in the ring.
On the horizon for King and Bandido is a title defense against FTR at “AEW Full Gear 2025.” King acknowledges the magnitude of the matchup, recognizing FTR as one of the top tag teams currently in the business.
“FTR has been a longtime rival of mine, and we’ve had some incredible matches together,” King noted. “Facing them with Bandido by my side is a huge measuring stick, and it motivates me even more to bring our A-game to the ring.”
Looking ahead to the event, King’s ultimate goal is to leave fans in awe and satisfied with their ticket or pay-per-view purchase. His passion for delivering memorable performances shines through as he aims to make every match an unforgettable experience for the audience.
With such dedication and talent showcased by King, fans can expect an electrifying showdown at “AEW Full Gear 2025.” For more AEW content, check out Newsweek Sports.
