Prime Video with Ads Reaches 315 Million Viewers Globally
Amazon’s Prime Video with ads has hit a major milestone, reaching a whopping 315 million monthly viewers worldwide. This impressive growth from 200 million just over a year ago shows how rapidly the ad-supported version of Prime Video is gaining popularity.
The exciting news was announced during Amazon’s unBoxed event in Nashville, where executives highlighted the significance of this achievement for both streaming and advertising. By offering viewers the choice to watch shows, movies, and live sports with ads instead of opting for the premium plan, Amazon has been able to attract a much larger audience and open up new opportunities for advertising revenue.
Jeremy Helfand, VP of Prime Video Advertising, described this as a transformative milestone, pointing out that the service now reaches viewers in 16 countries. For investors, this milestone is further evidence that Amazon’s streaming platform is expanding into a major global ad business, now competing with the likes of YouTube, Netflix, and Hulu for viewer attention and advertising dollars.
