Paramount+ Price Increase: Tips to Save on the Streaming Service

Paramount+ is set to increase its prices, following the lead of other streaming services like Netflix, Peacock, HBO Max, and Hulu. Starting in January 2026, the monthly and annual subscription costs will go up. This will be the second price increase in two years for Paramount+ after the jump in prices in August 2024. The ad-supported tier will go from $7.99 to $8.99 per month for Paramount+ Essential and from $12.99 to $13.99 for Paramount+ Premium. Annual plans will also be impacted, with Paramount+ Essential increasing from $59.99 to $89.99 per year, and Paramount+ Premium increasing from $119.99 to $139.99 per year.

The new prices will not take effect until Jan. 15, 2026, so there is plenty of time to secure a deal before then. Paramount+ cited its investments in new content, including UFC matches, Paramount+ originals, and expanding its film slate, as the reason for the price increase. While free trials are being discontinued, there are still opportunities to save on a Paramount+ subscription. The service typically offers deals, especially around Black Friday, with discounts of up to 50% off annual plans.

Signing up for an annual plan before the price increase is the best way to save on a Paramount+ subscription. By doing so, you can save $30 on the Essential plan and $20 on the Premium plan, in addition to the savings gained from paying annually rather than monthly.
